Don’t be jel, be reem!
I am a secret TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) addict and have been intrigued by the Essex way of life since it burst onto our TV screens. I was excited when I saw this book had been written; it was going to give me the chance to delve into the Essex way of life.
I have to be honest, when I first picked up the book I was slightly dubious about how well this book would be written and whether it would just be a rubbish attempt at a novel but it was the total opposite! I loved Laura’s writing style and the plot was so brilliant. I liked how Laura wasn’t afraid to show off Essex girls and how she challenged the stereotype of dumb, blonde, orange girls.
Jade is in a relationship with Tom after they met at uni. Everything seems to be going well until Jade finds out that Tom has been cheating on her. Deciding to return back to her Essex hometown she realises that she is not the girl she used to be and wants to get back to the old Jade. Her friend Kelly and her go to Marbella or ‘Marbs’ to work over the summer and try to forget about the rubbish boys back at home! Whilst in Marbs, the girls discover things about themselves that they never knew and begin to look at their lives in a completely different way. And, being Marbs, there are some rather good looking men wandering around….
Jade was a strong character who I loved reading about, she broke the stereotype and I thought she made all the right decisions.
I cannot wait to read the next book in this series! So excited.
This is a fun, summery read about love, vajazzles and tans with some gorgeous boys too!
